An Irish personal evangelistic site. I'm not representing a particular church, but it's broadly evangelical in tone. My aim is to cover topics I've encountered in discussions I've had over the years, mainly here in Ireland..
I’ve been fighting monsters since I bought my Nintendo NES back in the 1990s. I’ve lost count of all the monsters and nasty creatures that I fought in computer games. And I’m sure I’ve done some brave things in nightmares. As for the real world, we can be brave in all sorts of ways, but … Continue reading I Fought Monsters 😀
The most radical change that I made was going from being a Roman Catholic to an evangelical Christian when I was 18. But maybe it wasn’t all that different. Even as a Roman Catholic, I was encouraged to love God, love others, and recogize that I needed a Saviour. I remember learning to sing part … Continue reading Nothing Much?
I’ll list five Christian apps and five secular apps: YouTube (And YouTube music) JetPack (For WordPress.com) Facebook Audible Google Chrome Bible Study (Olive Tree Bible) Operation World (Christian statistics and prayer for the world) Monergism eBook Reader Bible Matters (Talks from St Helen’s Bishopsgate) Premier Plus (Christian broadcasting) These days, for Christian content, I generally … Continue reading Here I Stand
I don’t remember finding anything very significant. I do remember being in town with my daughter around 25 years ago and finding a purse or a wallet. We brought it down to the police station, and they contacted the owner and gave it back to her. And she sent flowers to our house to thank … Continue reading Lost and Found
If I consider all the people I’ve encountered throughout my life, I can think of numerous examples of kindness. It’s difficult to decide what the kindest thing was. My parents and others in my family circles have been so kind. And so have my friends. And from time to time, a total stranger has shown … Continue reading Salvation
Let me see – I’ve had various jobs in engineering, teaching, Christian work and eLearning. I often dream about starting again at any of these – and doing it all better this time. But maybe I’d be even worse 😀. As for other jobs, let me repeat a previous post: I’m not sure how to … Continue reading Let Me See
I’ve always enjoyed simulator games, such as driving F1 cars, rally cars, aircraft and trains. Some years ago, I purchased Euro Truck Simulator 2 on sale. As with many games that I get on sale, I often try them and leave them aside for the moment. But I got back into this one, and now … Continue reading Euro Truck Simulator 2
I don’t know if I can think of the weirdest coincidence. One notable one was on a Saturday in August 1980. I went on a bus tour from Cork City to West Cork, to the island of Cape Clear. I spent my time seeing the sights while listening to a Hymns by Johnny Cash tape … Continue reading Cape Clear 1980
I have lots of books that I never finished but still think about 😀. The one that haunts me most is The Gagging of God by Don Carson. I have read a good bit of it, but sometimes, I get distracted and come back and start all over in a few months – and get … Continue reading The Gagging of God by Don Carson
Wonderland (from Alice in Wonderland) is the most appealing wonderland for me. Many fictional worlds are a little scary, although maybe Hobbiton from Lord of the Rings would be appealing since they defeated Dark Lord of Mordor. But that’s a real place in New Zealand. Wonderland feels more magical. I always liked the Cheshire cat. … Continue reading Wonderland
