If I consider all the people I’ve encountered throughout my life, I can think of numerous examples of kindness. It’s difficult to decide what the kindest thing was. My parents and others in my family circles have been so kind. And so have my friends. And from time to time, a total stranger has shown amazing kindness.
However, the kindest thing anyone has done for me is God Himself in granting me salvation when I repented and trusted in Jesus.
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 3:16
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.”
Of course, the offer goes out to the whole world – not just to me 😀. But I remember a friend telling me that if I had been the only one who ever sinned, Jesus would still have come and died to save me. Does the Bible say that? I don’t see it. But the point that he was making is that God has the capacity to know and love each of us as individuals – as if we were the only person in the world.
