An Irish personal evangelistic site. I'm not representing a particular church, but it's broadly evangelical in tone. My aim is to cover topics I've encountered in discussions I've had over the years, mainly here in Ireland..
Just for fun, I decided to create a list of songs that entered the UK charts on every August that I have lived through. I did the same for June and July on other posts. I limited it to one per year. It wasn’t until about 1971 that I was familiar with them at the … Continue reading All My August’s
I’ve been exploring some of the very modern worship songs as an old guy 😀. But now, I’ve decided to alternate between very modern hymns, old hymns, and in-between hymns, namely the worship songs from the 60s to the 90s that feature in hymnbooks such as Mission Praise. Today it’s the turn of the very … Continue reading Hymns: Jesus Be the Name
I have many favourite Bible quotes. I can’t really say if there is a single one that always stands out more than the rest. But one that comes to mind is the following: Colossians 3:1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand … Continue reading Things Above
I like the story of John Harper, a Scottish minister who evangelized in the icy waters of the Atlantic ocean during the sinking of the Titanic, just before drowning. There’s a brief summary on the following site: The Man Who Died Preaching He pleaded with people to believe in the Lord Jesus. People are often … Continue reading Believe in the Lord Jesus

Here in Ireland, there was, and maybe still is, a massive drive to make Irish, rather than English, our most widely spoken language. It shouldn’t be difficult. We all had to learn it in primary and secondary school. And some of us even had to learn it at third level. I had to learn Irish … Continue reading Speaking Irish

I relate to Frodo (from Lord of the Rings) because both of us are ordinary, and I’d like to think that I’d be of some use to the world, despite my limitations. Spiritually, I think of fictional characters in the parables of Jesus. I can relate to most of them. I see a little bit … Continue reading Frodo Baggins
Yeah. I’ve often heard people say that. But their reasons for saying it can vary. For an example, an atheist might say that the moon goes around the earth because of the forces acting on it. It doesn’t just happen by choice or chance. And maybe some would say that all the decisions that we … Continue reading God is Working His Purpose Out
