I’ve been exploring some of the very modern worship songs as an old guy 😀. But now, I’ve decided to alternate between very modern hymns, old hymns, and in-between hymns, namely the worship songs from the 60s to the 90s that feature in hymnbooks such as Mission Praise. Today it’s the turn of the old hymns.
Today’s song is We Have Heard the Joyful Sound from the late 19th century.

I remember singing this in our Baptist church quite frequently back in the 1980s. It’s many years now since I’ve heard it. It’s all about spreading the good news of salvation found in Jesus, but it’s also a nice reminder than we’ve heard the joyful sound ourselves. We used to sing it to two different tunes.
