I like the story of John Harper, a Scottish minister who evangelized in the icy waters of the Atlantic ocean during the sinking of the Titanic, just before drowning.

He pleaded with people to believe in the Lord Jesus. People are often happy to call Him Saviour but some are uncomfortable about the world “saved”. But when I read the New Testament, I see that we are called to believe, and when we do, we are saved. We’ll see the full benefits in heaven, but the New Testament Christians knew that by believing, they were already saved – safe in the arms of Jesus.
