Is There Life On Mars?

Daily writing prompt
Do you think humans will ever colonize Mars? What would life there actually look like?

Here’s an excuse to post one of my favourite songs from 1973 that I used to listen to on my transistor radio, which I bought with my confirmation money 😀.

At the time, I didn’t know what it was about. In later years, I discovered that it was about a young girl escaping into movies because real life felt meaningless, chaotic, and disappointing. I was 11 in 1973. A few years later, I started to feel exactly the same – except that I escaped into music. But I also started my spiritual search, which led me to commit my life to Christ in August 1980, when Bowie’s Ashes to Ashes was number one. It’s hard to believe that it’s over 10 years now since Bowie passed away. I don’t know where Bowie stood in relation to faith, but great music always directs me to God, whether it’s Christian or secular. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Holy Spirit sometimes touches people in a special way in terms of creativity. Some songs feel like little miracles.

I think that humans probably will colonize Mars. But it doesn’t seem like a very pleasant place. But perhaps we could create indoor earth-like cities there. Or else, we could send all the criminals there 😀. But it would be hard to find agreement on that sort of thing.

In the future, God will separate good from evil. Because Jesus is the only perfect person who ever lived, the rest of us would not end up in heaven, but for the fact that God offers salvation.

John 14:2-3
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am

John 5:24
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

And here’s a few songs about heaven and salvation:
