I’ve been exploring some of the very modern worship songs as an old guy 😀. But now, I’ve decided to alternate between very modern hymns, old hymns, and in-between hymns, namely the worship songs from the 60s to the 90s that feature in hymnbooks such as Mission Praise. Today it’s the turn of the in-between hymns.
Today’s song is We Sing Your Mercies from 1997.
I discovered this one in 2017, 20 years after it’s release. I took little interest in modern worship until then. And even in 2017, I was just familiarizing myself with the new songs in the Mission Praise hymnbook – but they weren’t all that new 😀. I don’t remember singing it in church, but I find it very memorable or catchy. I’m just sorry that I don’t see more performances of it on YouTube.
I did find a few – though some of the videos seem quite old – maybe it’ll be revived at some stage. Perhaps there are so many newer songs available, it’s hard for the 1980s and 1990s songs to be remembered – but I fondly remember them 😀.
