I’ve been exploring some of the very modern worship songs as an old guy 😀. But now, I’ve decided to alternate between very modern hymns, old hymns, and in-between hymns, namely the worship songs from the 60s to the 90s that feature in hymnbooks such as Mission Praise. Today it’s the turn of the very modern hymns.
Today’s song is My Heart Is Filled with Thankfulness from 2003.
I’m discovering quite a few songs by Keith & Kristyn Getty lately. It’s nice to see Irish artists doing well – but their from Northern Ireland. It would be nice to see Christian artists emerging from the Republic of Ireland too. Maybe there are some, but I’m generally out of touch with modern worship music.
Moya Brennan was from the republic – but way up in Donegal. Now she’s in heaven.
I’ve recently started playing worship songson the guitar at home. I get the chords on Ultimate Guitar. And many songs have chords videos too – or videos of folk telling you how to play them – but I don’t have the patience for that 😀.
Thankfulness is such a central theme in the Bible. I love to look back on my earlier years, and I find so much to be thankful for when I do that. But even apart from that, I should constantly overflow with thankfulness.
Colossians 2:6-7
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
