I’ve been exploring some of the very modern worship songs as an old guy 😀. But now, I’ve decided to alternate between very modern hymns, old hymns, and in-between hymns, namely the worship songs from the 60s to the 90s that feature in hymnbooks such as Mission Praise. Today it’s the turn of the very modern hymns.
Today’s song is You Say from 2018.
I’ve never heard this one in church. Maybe it’s more suited to singing or reading it as individuals. I’ve seen Lauren Daigle’s songs on YouTube, but I knew nothing about her until yesterday:
I watched this video. Currently, I see all those modern singers as generic “Hillsong” vocalists 😀, but that’ll change because I intend to discover more about them all. Having watched the video, I find Lauren Daigle much more likeable as a person.
And I like the song too, having explored the lyrics. I’m so pleased to have overcome my prejudice against modern worship music. I see all music as God’s gift, and it’s great when people use it to glorify Him.
