How do you write what people actually want to read?

I didn’t start this blog to promote myself as a writer. And I’m not a big reader either these days. I’m probably more likely to watch YouTube videos or listen to podcasts. Yet, I sometimes like to read what ordinary people write on random blogs. My purpose in using WordPress.com was to find a quick and easy way to upload some material that I previously used on my church website. I handed the church website over to someone else, but I still liked the notion of having the material out there.
Back in my teens, when I was searching for the truth, I enjoyed seeing Christian text posters on buses, hearing street preachers, getting leaflets etc. It eventually led me to committing my life to Christ. Why do I bother putting evangelistic material on the web when there’s already so much stuff up there? Well, when I was searching, I liked to speak to ordinary people like me and hear their opinions rather than just listening to people who were heavily into marketing or highly gifted as evangelists. And I wasn’t only interested in their Christian beliefs. I’d also like to hear about their hobbies etc.
Funnily enough, I just subscibed to the Beauty for Ashes podcast last night by a Scottish Presbyterian minister guy – David Robinson. He was strong political views too. I used to hear him on the Unbelievable podcast. One of the things that impressed me about him is that I once heard him say that he liked the Manic Street Preachers 😀. They’re not a Christian group, but I like them too, and I was intriged by their history.
So, when I write, I don’t like to give too much information about myself in case I end up deleting the site if I have a suddenly spell of introversion (I did that 20 years ago with my first blog 😀). But I like to share some of my hobbies, such as my interest in rock music etc. And that’s the sort of thing that would attract me to read other blogs. But everyone is different, so some might have little interest in my hobbies and might be more interested in the Christian material. I think that the daily prompt is fun. I’ve always intended to spend more time reading the answers in depth, but at the moment, I only briefly glance and maybe fully read a few at times. But the daily prompt has has sucked me deeper into wordpress. Otherwise, I might have just uploaded the initial material and left it at that.
I always like including songs too. Maybe no-one ever looks at them, but I just enjoy posting them. So, here are the Manic Street Preachers 😀:
