Cork to Le Havre

What’s the longest trip you’ve ever taken?

Perhaps the longest trip would have been an overnight ferry from Cork to Le Havre back in the summer of 1984, when I went on my interail trip around Europe. I think that I left Cork around teatime on Friday. And I arrived in Le Havre in the late afternoon of Saturday. Then, I went down to Roen and spent my first night at a Youth hostel before going to Paris on the Sunday. When I returned, I came back via the UK, so the ferry trips were much shorter.

So here are a couple of songs from the summer of 1984 and a couple of hymns first published in 1984 😀. I remember hearing the songs in shops on the continent. My little sister taped all the Top of the Pops shows while I was away, so I got to see them all when I returned. I’m quite fond of all the music from 1984.
