Shannon Airport

Daily writing prompt
What’s the best and worst airport you’ve been to?

I only ever flew twice – Shannon (Ireland) to Gatwick (UK) and back. I generally use a ferry. I vote for Shannon as the best. In Gatwick, I couldn’t find a bin to dispose of my empty coke can. And then, when I went through the search, it set off the alarm. They just laughed at me 😀.

Shannon has more memories, because in my youth, I’d travel there to view the planes. And the concorde used to train there. I generally fly out of Shannon in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

I always like to include a pop song and some biblical references in my posts. For my pop song, I choose Wings of a Dove by Madness. There aren’t any airports or planes in the Bible, but metaphorical flying does appear from time to time.

Isaiah 40:31 — “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Psalm 55:6 — “I said, ‘Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.'”
