Well, we’re all aware than things can go well, wrong, or badly wrong in each of the key areas of life:
- Physical health
- Mental health
- Relationships
- Finances
- Career
- Spiritual
We live in an age where we have abundant advice or tips available for all these areas. Even when you take all the good advice, things can go wrong, but you increase your chances of success by taking the sensible approach – think ahead. And taking steps to ensure success can be enjoyable. Don’t assume that a sensible life is a miserable life.
Of course people will have different opinions on the right approach in all these areas, but you should at least investigate all the available tips.
For me, the spiritual area is the most crucial. My lifespan in the world is a drop in the ocean compared to eternity. And I want to spend eternity in heaven rather than in hell. So, I have availed of the offer of salvation that Jesus presented to me. And I would think that my faith has affected all the other areas of my life in a positive way. And it’s brought me much joy. But even if everything else went wrong, I could look forward to being with Jesus in paradise.
I think of the thief next to Jesus on the cross, suffering one of the most excruciating deaths possible. He admitted that he was getting what his deeds deserved. He was clearly repentant, and he also put is faith in Jesus. And Jesus promised him salvation that very day.
Luke 23:39-43
39 One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying, “If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!” 40 But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Don’t you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 He said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” 43 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
