I’ve been exploring some of the very modern worship songs as an old guy π. But now, I’ve decided to alternate between very modern hymns, old hymns, and in-between hymns, namely the worship songs from the 60s to the 90s that feature in hymnbooks such as Mission Praise. Today it’s the turn of the very modern hymns.
Today’s song is A Living Prayer from 2004.
I regularly hear Alfie Boe singing this one on Sounds Sacred, a hymns radio show which I listen to on BBC Radio Ulster at 5pm on Sundays. I thought it was an old song. It surprised me to learn that it was released in 2004. And Alfie Boe sounds like an old guy, but he’s 11 years younger than me π. The original doesn’t sound as operatic. It’s sung by Alison Krauss, who features in the lyric video. I’ll add her video to the collection below. I love the lyrics. I just hope that we have many more like it in the 21st century. I’ve so much to discover.
