What’s the most underrated movie you’ve ever watched?

Well, I’m not big into obscure movies, so I probably wouldn’t have heard of a movie if it wasn’t famous. And some movies aren’t hugely popular, but I still enjoy them.
Just the other night, I watched a movie on the gospel of John. But I know nothing about its background. I just found it on YouTube.
I’ve always enjoyed movies based on the life of Jesus. Some say that you shouldn’t attempt to portray God. But others argue that because he became a human, you are going to visualize the man Jesus in your mind anyway. You should always be aware that such movies are liable to be inaccurate in some respects, but they encourage me to read the gospels. Even as a child, they had a much bigger impact on me than going to Mass etc.
Anyway, to answer today’s question, I had to ask Google Gemini for examples of underrated movies. I just wanted to see if I’d watched any of them. And it mentioned Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. I’ve watched that movie on several occassions. We still have the blu-ray or DVD. I won’t bother going downstairs to check whether it’s a blu-ray or DVD 😀. It told me that its box office was eclipsed by The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. And it’s true because I hadn’t known about it at the time. Somehow, the movie turned up in our house.
I usually close my posts with hymns – here’s a few that relate to Jesus as master or commander – the New Testament uses military metaphors. There’s no call to spread Christianity through military means – and these hymns take the same approach:
