What’s the longest book you’ve ever read?

The longest novel that I read was probably War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. To be honest, I enjoyed the BBC TV adaptation more than reading the novel 😀. The war bits were a little tedious to read, but better to watch.
I could answer The Bible – but that’s 66 books. And my favourite systematic theology book is Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology. But he did video lectures and free audio lectures on the book too. And he published several more concise versions. In recent times, I’ve enjoyed the audio version on Audible – it’s split in two. I rarely read through books from cover to cover, but it’s a useful reference book.
Of course, I’ve read many academic long books in University etc. But these were mainly for reference. I remember one lecturer asking us to purchase an expensive electronics book – and he only covered the first chapter of it 😀.
I read that In Search of Lost Time (À la recherche du temps perdu) by Marcel Proust holds the official Guinness World Record for the longest novel ever written. Maybe I could write a longer one – it doesn’t need to be good 😀.
