I’ve been exploring some of the very modern worship songs as an old guy π. But now, I’ve decided to alternate between very modern hymns, old hymns, and in-between hymns, namely the worship songs from the 60s to the 90s that feature in hymnbooks such as Mission Praise. Today it’s the turn of the in-between hymns.
Today’s song is Name of All Majesty from the early 1980s.
This sounds quite traditional for an early 1980s hymn. From my own experience back then, all the newer songs sounded nothing like the old hymns. But many of these “new” songs are forgotten now. We have a new generation of “new” songs. But I like a wide variety of styles. And I certainly like this hymn. I do hope that it’ll be sung in years and centuries to come. We might even sing it in heaven π.
