I’m not rich, but currently, I don’t need a lot of money. I do long for more musical instruments, but maybe I should just improve my skills with the instruments that I already have 😀.
What’s meant by an unlimited budget? Is it an infinite amount of money? Surely the sensible thing to do would be to donate it to charities. I’d like to get prior notice on when the 24 hours would arrive. That would give me the opportunity to do a bit of research. TEAR Fund is probably the most well-known evangelical Christian charity in Ireland. If I had an unlimited budget for many years, I’d like to target where and how to spend the money myself, but if it’s only 24 hours, I’d be better donating it to a charity, such as TEAR Fund, who have expertise in various fields. I wouldn’t want any of it going to scammers or being used to build terrorist infrastructures.
If it’s an infinite amount of money, perhaps I could spend some on myself too. But I’ve read enough rock biographies to discover that having way too much money isn’t necessarily a good thing. But there are a few bits and pieces that I’d like to buy – one of these new Apple Macbook Neos, a Nord music keyboard, and a new car. But I’d be a lot happier knowing that my unlimited budget was doing real good in the world
One of my happiest moments was hearing about Band Aid back in 1984. I used to like Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats back in 1977 when I was a 15-year-old punk fan. Like myself, he was full of arrogance and opinions. But it was great to see him taking such an initiative. When I was in our Christian Union at teacher training college back in 1984, I remember raising funds for Band Aid. It brought the Christian side of me and the pop/rock side of me together. And I managed to attend Live Aid, the following July. I wasn’t expecting to. I just happened to be in London and I took a trip up to Wembley. And surprisingly, they were selling return tickets at the gate. It was something that brought the whole world together to do something wonderful.

Loved your post. It seems that a large percentage of us who responded to the prompt vied for a charity. I would be interested to see how any of us would do if we were given the opportunity to follow through with this hypothetical question, unfettered by outside influences. Thank you for sharing your thoughts every day.
