I’ve been on WordPress.com for almost a year now. Let me take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy new year. Here are a few “new year” songs that I remember from my earlier years. Here in Ireland, New Year’s Day is nowhere near as good as Christmas, but it’s always nice to feel a sense of new beginnings:

3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
I never really remember Another Year is Dawning. I just discovered it today. It’s great to think that it’s sung all over the world.
And it’s amazing that it’s 25 years since Cliff Richard’s Millennium Prayer. It was more of a new millennium song than a new year song, but maybe it still counts. He basically just put the Lord’s prayer (Our Father) prayer to the tune of Auld Lang Syne.
