I think that I’m a morning person 😀. I like the night too. I just find that I’m more productive in the mornings than I am in the afternoons. And I generally relax when evening comes.

I was trying to remember songs about the morning. The most memorable one for me is Morning Has Broken. That’s actually in one of the most common hymn books in my circles – Mission Praise. It was written by English author Eleanor Farjeon in 1931. It’s interesting that Cat Stevens covered it because he generally wrote his own songs. But his version helped to popularize it. It’s more of a sung poem than a hymn. It doesn’t have specifically Christian content in it. Anyone of any faith could probably sing it. The author wasn’t really religious, though she did become a Catholic later in life.
Here’s some other songs that mention mornings – but most are not really about mornings:
- Good Morning – The Beatles
- Good Day Sunshine – The Beatles (Doesn’t mention the word “morning”)
- Morning Bell – Radiohead
- Every Morning – Sugar Ray
- Lovely Day – Bill Withers
- Angel of the Morning – Juice Newton
- Good Morning Starshine – Oliver
- Morningtown Ride – The Seekers
- Good Morning – from Singing in the Rain
- Oh What a Beautiful Morning – from Oklahoma
Here are two nice hymns about mornings:
Psalm 5:3
“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
And here are a few hymns about evenings. I don’t know any about afternoons 😀.
Acts 16:25
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.”

Great sir
