Computer

Daily writing prompt
Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

The highest price that I ever paid for a leisure-related item is around 1900 euro for a computer a few years ago. People can pay much more for high-end computers, but I generally buy computers with reasonable good specs at a reasonable price. For many years these were around 1000 euro, but prices went up during COVID, and I think that Bitcoin affected graphics card prices too. Nowadays, if graphics aren’t your thing, laptops can be as low as 200-300 euro. I’m thinking that I might just get one of these whenever my Acer Predator dies. The funny thing is, my old Dell XPS, which started dying back in 2022 still works, though it takes ages to start up and behaves erratically at times. I bought that back in 2015. And I have a few other old broken laptops that still have a bit of life in them.

Anyway, I always like to weave music and Christianity into my posts. There’s little point in doing that today.

I could mention the Bible that I bought for €35.5 million at a Sotheby’s auction in May 2023. But I shouldn’t tell lies 😃. Seriously though, someone did buy it – the Codex Sassoon. So if people spend that much on Bibles, I shouldn’t really feel guilty about spending 1900 euro on my computer 😃. I do use it for Christian resources as well as playing music and games.
