We’ve a Story to Tell to the Nations

Daily writing prompt
Why do you blog?

I hadn’t really intended to blog. I chose WordPress.com as a quick and easy way to present the gospel and my own story. There are many excellent resources out there, but I think it’s nice for ordinary individuals to share how they view things. I think of the following Bible verse:

1 Peter 3:15
15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Throughout the site, I discuss my background, why I am a Christian, why I choose to be an evangelical rather than a Roman Catholic, and my favourite hymns and resources. You can find all that on my home page menu.

It was only later that I discovered the daily prompt, and I thought that it might be fun to try it. I don’t see myself as a creative writer, but I find that I am enjoying the little bit of writing that I do more than I anticipated. I don’t really know what direction this will eventually take. I do remember having a blog back in 2006, but I lost interest after a few months πŸ˜€. The evangelistic element of this one motivates me to keep it. Years ago, I distributed leaflets in Cork, Limerick, London and elsewhere. Some wouldn’t take them, some might have taken them and not read them, some might have read them but not found them interesting, and perhaps some were provoked to investigate further. It’s pretty much the same with this blog except that it can reach right around the world. I hope and pray that it might be of some use to someone.

Here are a couple of hymns about the gospel:

Great is the Gospel

  2. Thank you for loving what you do. It’s for the same reason I began to write to. To help people truly understand and know that we have a loving father.
