An Irish personal evangelistic site. I'm not representing a particular church, but it's broadly evangelical in tone. My aim is to cover topics I've encountered in discussions I've had over the years, mainly here in Ireland..
In this series, I take a brief look at some very modern worship songs as an old guy who should really be 18 and living in 1980, but I find myself here in 2025. I blame those guys on the Starship Enterprise 😃. But now that I’m here, I’ll need to adjust. Today’s Hymn is … Continue reading Hymns: The Blessing
Currently, I listen to podcasts sporadically. I am intending to get into The Rest is History. But the best way that I can answer today’s question is to mention a podcast that I listened to for many years – Unbelievable. It began around 2007. It began as a radio show on Premier Radio, which featured … Continue reading Unbelievable
In this series, I take a brief look at very modern worship songs. My preferred hymns are generally the old ones or the new choruses that I remember from my early years as a new believer, back in the 1980’s. I’ve only recently become familiar with 21st Century songs. I like to be positive, but … Continue reading Hymns: Graves into Gardens
I’d like to say physics and chemistry but I wasn’t necessarily into these much before third-level. Let me think – here’s a list of subjects that we did in primary school in order of preference: Arts and Crafts Religion History Geography Science English Mathematics Irish Then, in secondary school: Technical Drawing Religion English Science Mathematics … Continue reading Arts and Crafts
I began this series with my Hymns: 1980 Memories post, so this is the 36th in the series 😀. I’m getting old. 2016 began with the death of David Bowie and ended with the death of George Michael. It was a bit of a shock to hear of these deaths, but even back in 1977, … Continue reading Hymns: 2016 Memories
In this little series, I take a brief glance at some 21st Century hymns, as a 20th Century boy 😀. I’ve only discovered these in recent years. For secular music, my golden period was probably the 1970’s. And for modern Christian hymns, it was probably the early 1980’s. I sometimes feel like a fish out … Continue reading Hymns: Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me
In the evening, I try to avoid my computer and smartphone and get back to books. But I’m not too strict. I use a few different screen devices – desktop, laptop, iPad, smartphone and virtual reality (VR) devices. I think that it’s good to change position and device. I wouldn’t want to be looking into … Continue reading Back to the Books
This is part of a little series of posts that I’m creating, which take a brief glance at modern worship songs. I’m in my sixties, and it’s very easy for me to criticize all things new. In fact, I was prone to do that 30 years ago. But now that I’m getting old, I want … Continue reading Hymns: I Speak Jesus
I’m not under any great pressure time wise nowadays, but I’m never bored either. So, I always need time. By the way, I’m not Kylie Minogue😀. But she gave me my post title, so I thought it only fair that I include her 1992 revival of an old Chairmen of the Board song from 1970. … Continue reading Give Me Just a Little More Time
For a while, I’ve been trying to familiarize myself with modern Christian worship songs. Some years ago, modern for me meant 1970s and 1980s songs. But I realize that there’s quite a few over the past decade that I’m only learning now. I don’t play music in church anymore, but I like to play songs … Continue reading Hymns: Goodness of God
