An Irish personal evangelistic site. I'm not representing a particular church, but it's broadly evangelical in tone. My aim is to cover topics I've encountered in discussions I've had over the years, mainly here in Ireland..
I’m, afraid that if I ignore silly questions, I’ll break the habit of answering the daily prompt. So, I’ll answer this one 😀. Perhaps I would make them yellow and purple. I don’t think that there’s any likelihood of me starting a sports team, so I haven’t ever given it much thought. I’m more into … Continue reading Perhaps Yellow and Purple
I have been reviewing some modern worship songs, but I’ve taken a break to explore some Advent and Christmas hymns. 😀. Just when you think Christmas is over, you remind yourself that December 25th is the first of the 12 days of Christmas. So, I’ll wait until January 7th to go back to normal hymns. … Continue reading Christmas Hymns: We Three Kings

In my late teens, I was more left wing. In fact, I was big into Leon Trotsky. I wondered if I could somehow mingle Christianity with communism. I’m sort of in the middle now, perhaps slightly tending to the right. All the rock music stars that I liked, such as Paul Weller and Elvis Costello … Continue reading Left -> Right

We watched Fellowship of the Ring again in my house over Christmas, I thought that I’d love to have a little hobbit house. I can’t imagine myself being all that fussy about the specifics.
I have an affection for the old cars that I’d see in Ireland back in the 1960s and 70s. All of them lift my spirits when I see them. If I had to choose, it would probably be the Volkswagen Beetle. It has an interesting history: It originated in Nazi Germany. Adolf Hitler wanted an … Continue reading Volkswagen Beetle
I have been reviewing some modern worship songs, but I’ve taken a break to explore some Advent and Christmas hymns. 😀. Today, I’ve chosen “Good King Wenceslas” . It’s strange to have a Christmas hymn about someone other than Christ. It’s not the sort of hymn that we’d sing in church. Who was Wenceslas anyway? Wenceslas … Continue reading Christmas Hymns: Good King Wenceslas
I have been reviewing some modern worship songs, but I’ve taken a break to explore some Advent and Christmas hymns. 😀. Today, I’ve chosen Hark the Herald Angels Sing. I think of this as one of the main Christmas hymns. It’s certainly my favourite in terms of lyrics. It was written back in 1738 by … Continue reading Christmas Hymns: Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Let me begin my wishing everyone a merry Christmas 😀. I’m not creative. At times I liked to think that I was, but I realize now that I’m not – at least not in comparison with so many other wonderful people. But I’ve spent my life appreciating what others have created, most of all, the … Continue reading Merry Christmas!
