An Irish personal evangelistic site. I'm not representing a particular church, but it's broadly evangelical in tone. My aim is to cover topics I've encountered in discussions I've had over the years, mainly here in Ireland..
This isn’t Christian material as such. It’s just me remembering music from my earlier life and waffling about my life at the time.
Band on the Run by Wings was released in 1973. I borrowed the album in Spring 1975, and I bought it secondhand later that year. It was one of several albums that I bought in 1975, and I still enjoy listening to it. I bought two Beatles albums in 1975, Revolver and Sgt Pepper. At … Continue reading 1975: Music Memories
In 1974, I became more familiar with Paul McCartney’s music. I particularly liked the singles from Band on the Run; Jet, and Band on the Run itself. And in the autumn, I purchased my first Beatles album, the Red Album – 1962-1966. Up to that time, the only Beatles song that I knew was Yellow … Continue reading 1974: Music Memories

I date the start of my interest in pop music to around September 1972. The first song that I got into in a major way was Sylvia’s Mother by Dr. Hook & His Medicine Show. I remember buying a lyrics magazine to learn the song. That was before the video era, so I only saw … Continue reading 1972: Music Memories
1971 was the year of Meddle by Pink Floyd, but I only discovered that in the late 1970s. I still love all the Pink Floyd albums, especially the earlier ones. 1971 was the year before I started getting into pop music. But I was slightly aware of a good number of pop songs from that … Continue reading 1971: Music Memories
I’ve always been a big music fan. A couple of weeks ago, I created my Songs of the 60s post about songs that I remember as a child from the 1960s. I wondered if I should do something similar for the 1970s. I was big into pop/rock music from 1972, so maybe one post couldn’t … Continue reading 1970: Music Memories
