I don’t know if I have a favourite 😀. Maybe I’d choose Toblerone.

I remember an advert from my childhood days:
Toblerone,
Out on its own,
Triangular chocolate,
That's Toblerone.
Made with triangular almonds
From triangular trees,
And triangular honey
From triangular bees,
And, oh Mr Confectioner please,
Give me Toblerone
It it really made as specified? If not, perhaps we could all get together and take a class action against Mondelēz International for misleading us 🤨. Then again, perhaps they do have triangular almonds. trees, honey and bees in Switzerland.
I do notice a triangular shaped mountain there 😀.

But we should be hugely grateful to the Swiss, and particularly to Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann. What would life be like without the Toblerone?
Strange that John Calvin didn’t invent the Toblerone. Maybe he was too busy writing Calvin’s Institutes. It would have more of an impact if it came with a free Toblerone or Toblerone branding. I like to see what AI comes up with now and then 😀.
I was big into Calvin in the 1980s. I even did a walking tour of the cathedral associated with him in the cathedral. And a Japanese lady took a picture of me at the nearby reformers monument.

I like that fact that it comes in such varied sizes, although the shape remains the same.

I like to include something in my posts about pop music and Christianity. So, are there any pop songs about Toberlones? And do they feature anywhere in the Bible. The closest thing is honey. And there’s plenty about honey in music and the Bible, although generally it’s used as an analogy for the sweetness of romance, and the sweet eternal love, which lasts longer than romantic love….considerably longer, though many romance songs pledge eternal love.
Anyway, here goes:
Psalm 19:10
The fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
10Â They are more precious than gold,
    than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
    than honey from the honeycomb.

…And the lord said, “Let there be Toblerone.” And I’ve been happy ever since. And my son gets me a king-sized bar every Christmas! Keep your circles and squares; just give me my Isosceles triangle!
