Spend a Day Without IT?

Daily writing prompt
What could you do differently?

I honestly don’t know how to answer this question πŸ˜„. There are so many things that I could do differently, but I like things they way they are. I’ll just mention a thought that has recently come to mind. I have so many books that I still want to read. I have been contemplating spending one day a week away from computers, VR, phones or anything IT related. I might even consider spending more time living as I did back in the old days. But it’s tough πŸ˜„.

I can tell you one thing that I am doing differently this year. I generally try to read through the Bible every year. I often get distracted. It’s not that I stop reading the Bible, but I might just read what I feel like reading each day rather than following a set program.

But I just discovered this series of YouTube videos, and I do enjoy the audio and the version, so hopefully, I’ll stick with it. And maybe next year, I can choose a different video series.

Some of the Old Testament books are more suitable as reference material rather than books that you’d read right through, but I find listening to audio quite relaxing even apart from the content. I’ve read through the Bible many times, so I’m not all that bothered if I don’t take it all in. But generally something jumps out and gets me thinking. I also subscribed to My Utmost for the Highest this year, which presents a short, daily devotional.

For books such as Leviticus, I often suggest that people watch the followings series’ to get an overview.

Much of the content includes civil and ceremonial laws and guidelines, which no longer apply. But the broader principles still apply. For example, one of the most well-known Bible verses comes from Leviticus. We attribute the statement to Jesus, but he’s quoting from Leviticus:

Leviticus 19:18
18 β€œβ€˜Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
