Foreign Dishes

Daily writing prompt
What are your family’s top 3 favorite meals?

Eeek! Today’s prompt doesn’t really suit me, but I’ll answer it anyway – so as not to break the daily habit πŸ˜ƒ.

There’s no consensus in my family about favourite meals. But some of us are keen on foreign dishes, such as the following (let’s say the top three are our favourites):

  • Paella (Spain)
  • Curry (India)
  • Chili Con Carne (Mexico/USA)
  • Tacos (Mexico)
  • Falafel (Middle East)
  • Fish & Chips (UK)
  • Pizza (Italy)
  • Lasagne (Italy)
  • Burgers (USA)
  • Fried Chicken (USA/Korea)

I don’t know if I’d really recommend Irish dishes πŸ˜ƒ. Irish stew? Not really.

So, let me see if I can think of a silly song and a few sensible Bible verses as I’m prone to do in my posts. The song is a 1998 England World Cup song – Vindaloo. Seems it was a popular dish in England at the time. England, like Ireland, isn’t really famous for its food. Indian and Chinese food is popular – same in Ireland.

And my Bible verses?

Psalm 107:9
β€œFor he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

John 6:35
Jesus said, β€œI am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

1 Corinthians 10:31
β€œSo whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

And here’s a Christian song that features a feast:

We Will feast in the House of Zion
