Give Me Just a Little More Time

Daily writing prompt
Do you need time?

I’m not under any great pressure time wise nowadays, but I’m never bored either. So, I always need time. By the way, I’m not Kylie Minogue😀. But she gave me my post title, so I thought it only fair that I include her 1992 revival of an old Chairmen of the Board song from 1970. I wasn’t familiar with the original when I first heard the song in 1992.

Kylie Minogue – Give Me Just a Little More Time

Time is fascinating. It’s intersting how it can go so slowly when you’re waiting, and it can go much too quickly when you’re enjoying yourself. I also find the runup to Christmas quite fascinating. Time seems to accelerate in the week coming up to Christmas 😀.

My biggest fantasy is to be able to travel back in time. At least, we can do so through our memories and through other people’s memories.

I recently chose a few audiobooks on Audible by Dominic Sandbrook, where he looks back at the UK from the 1970s through to the 1980s. I live in Ireland, but I recognize many of the events from childhood. The books are excellent value because they’re about 30-40 hours long.

And I’m a big fan of all history, particularly church history. I found this nice talk on YouTube about Richard Sibbes, a Puritan. I’d heard the name, but I knew nothing about him. I love the way these random videos pop up on YouTube.

Actually, I need more time for YouTube. There’s so much I want to watch 😀.

Ultimately, we’ll have all the time in the world. Louis Armstrong’s song isn’t a Christian song. It’s a sad song, because it closed the 1969 James Bond film, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, where his wife got killed. They didn’t have all the time in the world.

We Have All the Time in the World

But we will exist forever in the afterlife. But the big question is” “where will you spend eternity?”

Where Will You Spend Eternity

The Old Testament says little about heaven and hell, but there is this verse:

Daniel 12:2
“Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.”

And the New Testament covers the afterlife extensively. I have a long post about it – Afterlife.

The Sands of Time Are Sinking
When We All Get to Heaven
I’ll Fly Away
And He Shall Reign Forever

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
