I’m trying to think of a song about secrets. My mind has been on 1975 this week, so it turns to The Secrets That You Keep by Mud. Who knows that I go all the way back to 1975? It’s actually a good bit further than that 😀.
Well, most people in the world don’t know me. I assume the question is asking what’s something that most of my friends or acquaintances don’t know about me. I don’t have many friends or acquaintances either, though I’ve had a good many in my earlier years. But I suppose I could mention that I haven’t told many people about this blog. I don’t mind them knowing, but it’s not a high priority.
And, I suppose they don’t know much about my early years. But you will know all about these because I do have a good number of posts about my past. I have a post giving details of the years leading up to my conversion (Conversion Chronology). I have the Hymns Memories series, and I have the Music Memories series.
Yesterday, I posted the 1975: Music Memories post. It’s about music, but it’s also about me. Excellent material for those of you who are identity thieves. But I don’t really think that my identity is worth stealing 😀. Even if it was, you’d need to read through all my long and tedious posts 😤.
Actually, one thing most people don’t know about me is that I nearly always write “identify” when I try to write the word “identity”. I don’t know why that happens 😀.
So, let’s get to spiritual matters. One of the scary verses of Scripture is the following:
Luke 8:17 “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”
I can visualize myself standing on judgement day with everyone hearing about my sins. The only consolation is that everyone else will have their sins revealed too. But more importantly, if we repent and trust in Jesus, our sins are forgiven. I think of the hymn “Unto Him Who Has Loved Us”:
2. All these once were sinners, defiled in his sight,
Now arrayed in pure garments in praise they unite.
Rev 1:5-6
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
Rev 19:6-8
6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
“Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
8 Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given her to wear.”
