I’d like to be more informed about all sorts of things. I am very jealous of really clever scientists, such as Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, and Isaac Newton. But life might be very dull if there was little to learn. Even all those brilliant scientists longed to know more and more.
Anyway, I’ll list six topics that I’d like to be more informed about – forget the chewing gum – that’s not my current priority 😀 :
- I’ll begin with something quite trivial. I’ve always been a fan of pop and rock music. I like to learn more about the lives of pop stars. I find it fascinating. And I want to learn more about playing musical instruments and music production.
- I’m curious about quantum mechanics, the nature of time etc. I do watch documentaries, but I’m always keen to know more. And I so easily forget what I’ve already learned 😀.
- I’d like to know more about my grandparents and any ancestors of mine who lived in the 19th century. I’d like to have investigated that when I was young and had the opportunity to speak to my parents and grandparents.
- I’d like to know more about mathematics. I generally got good results in the subject in college, but only because I did so many past questions and samples. But I didn’t really understand the subject in any great depth.
- I’m keen to know more about every country in the world. Recently, I’ve started going through every nation alphabetically. I pray for the country, and I watch a few YouTube videos. It’s a very high-level view, but as time goes on, I hope to get a more in-depth understanding. Today’s country is Egypt. Yesterday it was Ecuador and the Gallipolis Islands. I watched a video that showed giant tortoises. Poor guys – I’m glad I’m not a tortoise 😀.
- I’m always keen to know more about the Bible and theology in general. Whenever I read a passage, new things jump out that I never noticed before. And the Bible is full of encouragement to increase our knowledge and insight.
Psalm 119:130
“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”
Ephesians 1:17
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ… may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”
2 Peter 1:5
“Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge.”
And here are some quotes by great scientists:
Albert Einstein “The important thing is to never stop questioning.”
Isaac Newton “I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore… whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.”
Carl Sagan “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.”
Stephen Hawking “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”
Richard Feynman “I would rather have questions that can’t be answered than answers that can’t be questioned.”
