Physically, I had a couple of wisdom teeth removed. I had a general anesthetic for the second one. I do remember feeling very strange when I woke 😀.
More importantly is that spiritually, I’ve been given a new heart 😀:

Ezekiel 36:26 – “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
We’re not speaking of physical hearts here. In the Bible, the “heart” is far more than just a physical organ—it’s a rich metaphor for the core of a person’s inner life.
I don’t relish the thought of hospitals and surgery in the future. I’d much rather if Jesus returned and I didn’t need to experience the possibility of illness, hospitals or care homes and death. But I try to focus on what comes after. The notion of a new heart or a new creation is all about the beginnings of the new creation that God has planned for all those who are in Christ. We’ll have a new heaven and a new earth, risen bodies that’ll be totally transformed, and it all begins now, with a change in our hearts. We still need to live with the world, the flesh, and the devil, which can drag us away from God. But every day, we fight the good fight! And in addition to reading God’s word and prayer, hymns and worship songs help me to do just that.
